Reiki Sessions - Unveiling The Transformative Power Of Reiki Practice
Reikiis a natural, simple method that assists in balancing the energies of the body. Reiki has no negative side effects, nor can it cause harm.
Reiki comes from two Japanese words: Rei, meaning a higher intelligence or spiritual wisdom, and Ki, meaning universal life force, chi or prana. The combining of these two root words indicates a universal energy guided by a higher spiritual wisdom.
Reiki is not a religion, but is practiced by people of most religions, including clerics, healthcare professionals, and ordinary people. Reiki is an ancient healing technology, which involves a process of healing touch. Many people receiving a Reiki treatment feel a soothing warmth where the practitioner's hands are placed. People report feeling completely relaxed and calmed during a session.
A person who receives Reiki is asked to wear loose, comfortable clothing. If able, the person is asked to lay down on a comfortable massage table, and the formal session begins.
The practitioner places her hands on a variety of locations on the body, each placement lasting about five minutes. There is no massage, no pressure – just allowing the Reiki energy to flow from the Source to the person receiving it.
Speaking is not necessary during a session, but persons receiving Reiki often talk about how they feel physically. Many people prefer to talk about their experience after the session, due to the sense of physical comfort at that stage.
Before ending the session, the practitioner gently ensures that the person who has just received Reiki is back to a normal, alert state.
